I am committed to protecting and respecting your privacy, and fully adhere with the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). The following statement (together with my standard terms and conditions) sets out the basis on which any personal data I collect from you, or that you provide to me, will be used and protected.

What data is collected

The data I collect from you is used solely for developing a commission that I have been appointed to carry out. Generally, this is not particularly sensitive information and most of this will be recorded within my standard appointment schedule which is produced at the start of every project I undertake. Examples of the type of data collected are: personal and business name(s), postal addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses and occasionally bank details.

Where and how do I get the data

All data shall be gathered on a legitimate interest basis, normally obtained directly from you ‘the client’ during our conversations, emails and other communications. On some occasions I will also obtain data from publicly accessible sources such as government websites, companies house, social media and other research.

My website may contain links to other third party sites. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

Data Storage and Security

The electronic data I collect is predominantly stored in two locations, firstly on a local Solid-State-Drive (SSD) within the office, and secondly on a Microsoft Cloud Server (OneDrive), both of these locations are passcode protected.

Any hard copy information that you give to me, or which is printed within the office in order to work with you, is kept in a secure filing cabinet or in locked drawer units. Please note that in order to comply with and fulfil my PII arrangements for my professional services my data retention period is 10 years from the date of completion of the project.

Should I suffer a data breach, I shall report this to the affected data entities and to The Office of the Information Commissioner within 72 hours of discovering the breach.

Who do I share the data with?

I will never share, lease, distribute or sell your information to third parties unless I have your permission or the law requires me to do so. Notwithstanding, there will be occasions where, in order to advance the project, I have to share some data with other third parties such as other design consultants and suppliers. Communication such as this will be carried out in a transparent manner with you fully informed.
